Words and Music by Dan Rutledge

Hear 'Song of Mary'

Verse 1
Gabriel the angel said to me,
"Mary you are now with child.
You must name Him Jesus,
our Emanuel and always place your
trust in God's own keeping".

When the star shone from the eastern sky,
I was ready for the baby.
I said, "Joseph find a shelter.
We must quickly make it ready.
And I said to trust God.

Chorus
I am the handmaid of the Lord, my God.
O my child, you fill my heart with joy.
And I will sing that I will bear the Christ-Child
and I shall be bless'd.
O my Child, my Lord, my God.

Verse 2
After temple, Jesus stayed behind.
We were worried. He was so young.
Joseph traveled back to find Him.
He was speaking to the elders,
And He said to trust God.

At the wedding we were out of wine,
Jesus said to gather water.
Then He said to serve the steward,
Only servants knew the story,
Then He said to trust God.

Chorus
I am the handmaid of the Lord, my God.
O my child, you fill my heart with joy.
And I will sing that I will bear the Christ-Child
and I shall be bless'd.
O my Child, my Lord, my God.

Verse 3
I am Mary, Queen of Heaven.
I will be here when you call me.
Tell me what you need and I will take it to my Son and Saviour
for I trust He hears me.

Final Chorus
He is the Christ Child and my Saviour.
O my Child, you fill my heart with joy.
And I will sing that He will hear your intentions,
for He is Lord.
O my child, my Lord, my God.
O my child, my Lord, my God.
O my child, my Lord, my God.
